Quick Take – Atlanta Blaze’s 2017 Collegiate Draft

May 28, 2017
Kennesaw – The 2017 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft took place Sunday afternoon in Foxboro, MA, a mere 24 hours before college lacrosse’s division I men’s national champion is crowned in Gillette Stadium. The event, hosted in conjunction with the NCAA Championships, took place at Toby Keith’s Bar and Grill and drew appearances from college superstars such as Sergio Perkovic and 2016 Tewaaraton Winner Dylan Molloy.

Despite dropping three of their first four games, the Atlanta Blaze are far from out of playoff contention and looked to the collegiate draft to add to an already talented roster of young players. General Manager Spencer Ford and Coach Dave Huntley were methodical in their draft selections, looking to fill immediate and future needs alike from one of the deepest pools of players in recent years. All the players selected have the potential to enter the 19-man lineup straightaway and will be critical in helping the Blaze make their playoff push in June and July.
