Breaking: Blaze Acquire Glazener

September 21, 2017
Kennesaw - A trade between the Denver Outlaws and the Atlanta Blaze was finalized today, with defender Christian Burgdorf leaving the Blaze in exchange for defender Eddy Glazener. In 2018, Glazener will fit well into the team-oriented defensive plan that Coaches Huntley, Spencer, and Munro have planned.

Eddy Glazener graduated from Notre Dame in 2016, and first saw the professional field in Denver in 2017. He played in ten games, his first being a win against the New York Lizards. His young talent will fit in well with the Blaze's style of play, with General Manager Spencer Ford saying, "Eddy Glazener is an extremely intelligent player who will bring a great ability to think two and three plays ahead. We play a nice brand of team defense and are expecting Eddy to fit nicely into a QB style role. He is good off the ground and in the open field when making decisions and he is very long with great height. We are thrilled to have him with us in 2018."

Of the trade, owner Peter Trematerra said, "We feel Ed Glazner is a great addition to our overall team defensive scheme. He comes from an outstanding collegiate program that is consistently ranked at the top of the NCAA. He has played in a championship game in the MLL and will bring a championship attitude to our locker room. We expect him to be a field general and help further develop a pretty high level defensive unit. The excitement for 2018 is at a very high level for the Atlanta Blaze."
